Many cities are using Placemaking to revive older neighborhoods that were heavily disinvested and impacted by urban renewal. After more than a year of planning with the City of Hartford and its residents, we have just released the Arrowhead Gateway Small Area Plan and Corridor Study. Much to our surprise and delight, this urban district turned out to be where Frederick Law Olmsted lived as a boy, and where multiple public spaces were later designed by Olmsted’s firm. Our work was led by Bergmann, and included Camoin Associates.
